ColdFusion Beginners' Resources Getting Started With ColdFusion Recommendations

Here are ColdFusion tips for new users:
  1. I suggest joining your local CFUG - see http://www.macromedia.com/v1/usergroups/ for a list.

  2. For questions you could join cftalk email list at http://www.houseoffusion.com/ - be warned this list generates over 50-100 emails per day!

  3. A good book is Ben Forta's Web App construction kit.

  4. Have you looked into cf express, the free but limited version of CF?: http://www.macromedia.com/software/coldfusion/trial/cf_server_express.html/.
    See http://www.macromedia.com/v1/products/coldfusion/techinfo/features/cf4matrix.cfm for feature comparison.

  5. 1st Page 2000 - is an excellent freeware html editor and is similar to ColdFusion Studio.

For installation issues, I can recommend a solution. Macromedia offers free installation support. Visit http://www.macromedia.com/support/email/isupport/.
You can view pertinent knowledge base answers to common installation issues, or if still not solved, request email support from real Allaire technicians.
